Nelson Jalil (Camagüey, Cuba, 1984) is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice primarily focuses on painting while also exploring installation and video. He graduated from the Fine Arts Academy of Camagüey in 2003 and the University of the Arts of Havana in 2009.

Jalil’s work has been collected by the Dom Museum, Vienna, Austria, and Espacio 23, Miami, USA, and he is the recipient of the 2025 Miami Individual Artist (MIA) Grant, awarded by the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs. His work has been exhibited internationally at venues such as the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center, Fort Myers, USA; Dom Museum and Kunsthalle, Vienna, Austria; Espace Témoin, Geneva, Switzerland; Reinbeckhallen Art Center, Berlin, Germany; Tianqiao Art & Cultural Centre, Beijing, China; the Experiments in Cinéma Film Festival in New Mexico, USA; the Art of the World Gallery in Houston, Texas, USA; the Pan American Art Projects Gallery in Miami, FL, USA; and the Center for the Development of Visual Arts, Havana, Cuba, among others.

His work has also been documented in publications such as Cuba Totalitaria (Editorial Hypermedia, 2022) and Cutting the Edge: 100 Cuban Artists (ARTempoCuba, 2019), and has been shown in galleries, art fairs, and alternative art spaces across the USA, Italy, France, Austria, Mexico, and Cuba.
